Surf's up!!
Adventures at Tallebudgera

Our hearts beat faster as we approached our destination. The bus jerked to a stop and we were all eager and ready for the adventures ahead. The Seville Road children had arrived!

Meeting our instructor Steve, we felt comfortable and excited. He introduced himself and quickly learnt all our names.  Our first activity was team challenges. We participated in these activities with curiosity despite the sweltering heat. Next was the archery which was challenging and rewarding as we tried hard and aimed for the target.

As we awoke on the second day we were greeted by tired and cranky teachers who sipped their coffee as they watched us take our morning exercise around the oval. Our excitement was rising as we quickly ate our hot breakfast and thought about the day on the beach we were about to have.

Steve explained how rips are formed and taught us how to be safe in the surf. We dashed through the hot sand to the cold, salty water. The time passed quickly as we thrashed about in the foamy, crashing surf, enjoying every second of this spectacular experience.

Later, we listened anxiously, to the instructions as we peered up at the daunting rock face. Steve challenged us to set a personal goal for rock climbing. How far could we make it? How high could we go?

Returning to our cabins was an overwhelming relief as despite the sweltering heat, we were happy and comfortable with our friends. We got into mischief, playing, having fun and gobbling our sweet treats. The messiness of our cabins and our untouched beds were proof of our enjoyment.

Leaving Tallebudgera was difficult because we had so much fun. As we said our goodbyes to Steve and the other helpers, kids were busy rushing around with heavy bags. We stepped onto the bus and felt a wave of cool air-conditioning. We were tired and satisfied, looking forward to the comforts of home.
